General Motors had recently displayed 2013 Chevrolet Onix at Sao Paulo Auto Show. It is a five door hatchback designed specifically for Brazilian market. It will compete with new Volkswagen Gol and Hyundai HB20. The car is built on an extended Gamma II platform which is already used in Chevy cobalt.
Chevrolet Onix has similar profile as Hyundai i20 with new headlamps and face. Wheelbase is stretched to 2530 mm and offers more space inside cabin of the car. Interiors are fresh and borrowed from Chevrolet Cruze.
Onix will be equipped with two engines, each with two different dual fuel versions. The base is 1 liter gasoline engine that develops 78 hp(Gasoline) and 80 hp(Ethanol). Other is more powerful 1.4 liter engine producing 98 hp(Gasoline) and 106 hp(Ethanol). Three trims are available in Onix — LS,LT and LTZ.
