There has been much focus on the Jaguar XE and new XF recently. Now it is time for XJ to be in the news. The changes in 2014 model were subtle, but now jaguar will introduce a highly updated model. The model will not be revolutionary as it was six years ago, but changes will be new and significant to match Mercedes S-Class and highly anticipated 2016 BMW 7 series.
On the outside, the significant changes can be noticed mainly in headlights and tail-lights. The headlights are full LEDs and rear lights have received slightly different arrangement of LEDs. Front-line are slightly updated too with more chrome insert. The big news is uniquely updated power steering that is said to reduce fuel consumption by three percent. The power steering remains dormant until systems detect wheelspin.
The interior is updated too with a 12.3-inch navigation screen, now displays navigation features. There is also an 8-inch screen present on center-console. The updated infotainment system also called InControl Touch Pro has inbuilt door to door navigation. It is powered by Intel Quad-core processor with 60 gigabytes SSD which enables faster processing than before.
The engines are updated to meet Euro 6 standard. Jaguar has also taken the opportunity to tune up the power of diesel engine. The updated V6 diesel motor now produces 3oo hp and 700 Nm of torque against the previous 275 hp and 600 Nm of torque. As a result of updated output, this engine equipped car can accelerate 0-60 mph in 5.9 seconds. Despite the surge in power, CO2 emission is reduced from 159 gm/km to 149 gm/km. The gasoline high-performance 5.0-liter engine is available in three outputs 470, 510 and 550 horsepower. All engine options are
available for normal and long-wheelbase models. The new 2016 Jaguar XJ will be available in showrooms in fall this year.
