The latest Saab 9-3 has a gasoline turbo engine, but company disclosed recently that an electric version would be launched this spring. The production of electric version of Saab 9-3 will began soon. The details about the electric motor is not yet revealed by the company. Since the new acquisition of Saab during fall of 2012, the company always want to built electric cars. Now the car is only few weeks ahead and test run for electric-drive 9-3 will commence very soon.
According to CEO Mattias Bergman the Saab electric cars should be be seen as a revolution, but a gradual evolution. The difference in appearance from its gasoline sibling will be that electric-drive Saab 9-3 will have no tail pipes and few significant changes to the interior. During low speeds the car will be silent but you can hear hear grinding roadway noise at high speed.
