It is almost six years since Scirocco was introduced. Instead of replacing the Scirocco with a new model, Volkswagen chooses to face-lift the current model. The front is reworked and now has a resemblance with rest of the Volkswagen range. New Xenon headlights with LEDs and taillights, larger air intakes and several new colors are some of major updates done for 2014 model. Inside is also updated with instruments and multi-functional steering wheel carried from new Golf. In addition, three auxiliary gauges are present on center console which display turbo boost pressure, oil temperature and a stop watch.
Engines offered in the new model have grown stronger and fuel efficient upto 19 percent. The entry level model has a 1.4 liter turbocharged in-line four cylinder engine which develops 125 hp. A familiar and most popular 2.0 liter turbo four cylinder engine is also offered which develops 180, 220 and 280 hp. Two diesel versions will also be available with 150 and 184 hp. The updated version of the Volkswagen Scirocco will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show and goes on sale in Europe later this year.
