Volvo has promised to surprise everyone with an exciting new concept car at the Frankfurt motor show in September. But as of now it had revealed to us pictures of the brand new model. The car in the picture is the concept version of Volvo’s all new model C90 which is based on a new platform. Models to follow after C90 will be S90 and V90 which will replace old V70 and S80. New XC90 is delayed until 2014. Many of the design features will also appear in future models including the replacement for the V70, which will be launched after the XC90. In future Volvo Cars will not only be practical and efficient but will have attractive design. The company will create smart solutions to make today’s hectic life a little easier.
Volvo Concept Coupe is a sleek and relatively compact car. It measures 4.5 meters in length, which is 20 inches shorter than the Mercedes E-Class Coupe, but it is the ground breaking design which makes Volvo Concept Coupe look great. Along with the new design Volvo will introduce new features. The technology under the shell is called «SPA» and is Volvo’s new toolbox that will form the basis for all new models. It also includes the introduction of new engines in the line-up. The d
esign provides some elements of P1800 from the 1960s. Design manager Thomas Ingenlath is responsible for this brilliant concept who had previously worked with Audi and Volkswagen.
Volvo C90 will have a hybrid powertrain. The petrol engine drives the front wheels and electric
motor driving the rear wheels. The total output developed will be 400 horsepower and 600 Nm(443 lb-ft) of torque. Volvo Concept Coupe is a plug-in hybrid which can be plugged into an electrical outlet to charge. The interior of the car is futuristic. The digital instrument have received an update and a head
-up display shows important information in the windshield. Among other things present are a new touch screen with a connected infotainment system and digital instrument panel. The infotainment system has been reworked completely and now consists of a large touch screen. The first model to roll out in the market based on new platform will be all new XC90 SUV. With the concept coupe Volvo wants to show what customers can expect in coming years.
